hypersea
Hypersea is a project by composers Esther Calderon M and Juuli Haverinen. The duo composes and performs pieces aiming to bring focus to water ecologies and the effects of climate change on different bodies of water. The name hypersea refers to plant and animal life on earth, drawing inspiration from the writings of Astrida Neimanis and Stacy Alaimo. We create artworks which look at the world through a hydrofeminist lense and reflect on the interconnectedness between humans and different bodies of water.
Their most recent works are Venus of the Baltic Sea and Naiad.
